Profile

CPA designation required
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
Atout : expérience dans le domaine immobilier et hospitalité (hôtellerie, restaurants)
Great rigor, organizational skills and attention to details
Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously in a dynamic environment
Analytical, proactive and solution-oriented mindset
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (quickbooks, yardi, hopem)
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Bilingualism required (french and english)

Key skills

Complete accounting cycle
In-depth knowledge of Canadian accounting standards
Significant experience in preparing monthly and annual financial statements
Ability to analyze budget variances and produce accurate & useful reports for management
Rigorous monitoring of fixed assets, depreciation, provisions and accruals
Experience with inter-company transactions/accounting and consolidation of multiple entities
Ability to optimize accounting processes and establish good internal controls

Main tasks

Participate and review day-to-day accounting, invoicing, deposits, journal entries and bank reconciliations
Reconcile larger accounts and maintain account consistency
Overview accounts receivable and payables of multiple entities and ensure proper follow ups
Responsible of month/year ends internal financials and coordination with external parties, auditors or other
Produce high quality and useful reports for management
Prepare and/or review tax declarations (GST, QST, HST) and other government reports
Monitor real estate projects: expenses, budgets, variances, chargebacks, accuracy
Collaborate in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
Collaborate with operations, property management and hospitality teams to reconcile financials and operational data
Identify process improvements and contribute to the modernization of the accounting department
